Classes & Events
Bee Tree Farm will host periodic farm tours and classes starting in the spring of 2017 in addition to offering The Workshop space as a venue for small events (see below!). Check back often for event updates and follow Bee Tree Farm & Dairy on Facebook and Instagram to get the most current information.
Open Farm Day – September 16 from 10am-1pm

Guests are invited to BYOB or bring a picnic to enjoy at our picnic tables. Admission is free – so are the goat kisses. (Pssst: we love dogs but please leave yours at home! Our working dogs are very territorial and outside dogs are problematic!!)

Bubbles and Brunch – Hosted by Antonelli’s Cheese Shop! – October 14 from 10am – 11:30am
We’re headed to Bee Tree Farm in Manor for Brunch on the Farm! Jenna and her goats have invited us out for a wonderful spread of cheese, sundry pairings, charcuterie bites, complimentary adult beverages and fun with the goats on October 14th. You can either meet us at the farm or join us on the caravan from the cheese house. We’ll be leaving the house at 9:30am so please arrive by then if you’d like to follow along (or meet us at the farm at 10am). The event will start on the farm at 10:00am and last until 11:30am. From there, we’ll have about 30 minutes to play with the goats and check out her beautiful farm.
Price – $55
Backyard Goat Milking 101 Class – October 21 from 10am-12:30pm
Are you dairy goat curious and want to learn more about exactly what it takes to raise and milk your own goats? Think you don’t have enough space, don’t have enough time, don’t have enough tools? Did you know many goats can live happily in a backyard in Austin (yep) so that fresh, rich milk may be as close as your back door?! Stop dreaming about raising goats for fresh, raw milk – AND ACTUALLY DO IT! In this class we will discuss all of the most important aspects of dairy goat care, milking technique, and milk handling and each participant will have the opportunity to milk a goat and participants will leave with helpful handouts including simple plans to build a milk stand. (Psst: class will conclude with some Bee Tree cheeses and crackers…just some inspiration for what glorious goat milk can create!)
Sunset Goat Walk – November 11 from 4-6pm
There’s no better way to unwind after a busy work week than to wander up a hillside with your favorite date and a herd of sassy goats just as the sun starts to set and the fireflies start twinkling. BYOB and we’ll do the rest, including serving our fresh cheeses along with fruits and breads at picnic tables on the hill top for sunset views and all the caprine entertainment your weary heart desires.
Honey and Cheese Pairings Class – December 10 from 2-4pm
Two Hives Honey and Bee Tree Farm & Dairy are once again combining their passions for bees, honey, goats, and cheese at this annual honey and cheese pairing class! This is a rare opportunity to taste a variety of local artisanal honey and Texas cheeses on a working dairy and goat farm! The class will be led by Tara Chapman, Owner and head beekeeper with Two Hives Honey and Jenna Kelly-Landes, owner/farmer/cheesemaker with Bee Tree Farm & Dairy. During the tasting, Tara will explain the process of how honey bees make honey, what responsibly harvesting honey entails, and the essential role bees play in all aspects of farming and food. Jenna will explain the art of turning a pasture full of goats into cheese.
It is very important to us to share our farm with our customers and anyone interested in visiting a small, sustainable dairy farm! Unfortunately, our farm commitments make it difficult to host individual tours. We will periodically open the farm to the public through open farm days, however we can schedule small, private group tours with a minimum of six individuals. A one hour tour will include a short walk in the pasture with the goats and a walk through the dairy and milk parlor. Arrangements can also be made for school and youth group tours. Please contact Jenna to discuss details and availability.
RENT THE WORKSHOP at BEE TREE FARM
Located just 15 miles east of Austin, the Workshop is a rustic and intimate space that is intended as a place for learning, creating, and sharing great food! Large enough to comfortably seat up to 25 folks, this 14×30 foot building has been intentionally finished with a rough and rustic interior filled with antique materials salvaged from other homes and barns across the great state of Texas. We love a good story and this gathering space tells a tale of days long past through the warmth and patina of ancient barns, dance halls and creaky old Texas farm homes. The space comes complete with a small (working!) vintage refrigerator, a very clean and modern composting toilet and bathroom with beautiful vintage hand sinks and long stainless steel tables and metal stools. In addition to the indoor space, two 15′ wooden tables are situated just outside, overlooking the goat pasture, which are perfect for outdoor meetings or picnics. The space is ideal for offsite meetings, tea parties, bridal or baby showers, and may be used as a space for artisans to teach classes! We hope you’ll consider The Workshop at Bee Tree Farm when searching for a small venue for your gathering. Please contact Jenna to discuss details and pricing.
